Throwing It BackI have been in this hobby for a very, very long time. My first game was in 2007 and Ive been hooked ever since! I had the awkward beginnings like everyone else. Eventually Ill do a post about me as a player initially, but today is not that day. Today we are going to read about one of the first Milsim events I ever went to. Thinking back, that day was everything I imagined and more. I remembering gearing up for this game for weeks in advanced. This was going to be my first large scale military simulation event with over 200 people. This was in Harwood, Texas. At the amazing field that had villages, a Starship Trooper base, caves, etc! I did not get the opportunity to see the whole field because it was so massive but I still had a blast! The team I registered with was the Texans, we wore tan and as you could see I was ragtag with my 3 different types of camo. But it still worked! The story semi matched up with a TV show called “Jericho” with three factions. The Texans, some government force and Black Raven Security. I had my HK416 and I was ready to go to work! I barely made this video but this shows you an example of what I saw. I was squaded up with one of the more hardcore players and we were essentially recon and QRF. Which I was happy for because I was in top athletic shape and I was down to pew! Our SL decided we would never engage more than two squads at a time without backup. Which was cool, made us less aggressive than I wanted but it was cool. We took a tower with needed intel, killed a VIP in some convoy and we even racked up a good kill count. Apparently the government forces tried to pay the PMCs to hunt us as well but we picked up one of their PMCs and he backed us up the whole time so they never turned on us. I remember seeing the dudes wearing full multicam something that was epic because multicam was not cheap at all af the time. I saw an MGL, never thought Id ever own one and now I have. A HPA sniper rifle, the beginning of a revolution. ACU was still the cool camo... Ugh talk about ugly. Glad I skipped that phase. We ended the event about 12 hours later with a coupe. The Ravenwood guys smuggled in a nuke and was going to use it to get resources. We created an alliance with the Government and decided to hit their base with everything we had. My recon squad actually found a creek that we waded through to get to a side of their base that they thought was untouchable. We hit that flank hard, when they realized we were there they tried to divert forces to hit us but the frontal force just pushed harder. We were the first in the base, it was Chaos. I got my first glimpse of CQB and I was in love. We eventually decimated them not long after we broke that flank. Theres a youtube video below that says one dude held off 6 of us. To be completely honest, I was one of those guys but if you notice 3 of us were just standing around because we actually thought it was game over. But its cool, Id give him some fame because he was still the last one standing. Would I play in Texas again? Of course! They were all a bunch of great guys! My buddy Top Dawg was there and thats the only name I remember. I eventually grew to like more heavy Milsim games with better kit and CQB parts. But I will always credit this game with getting me started in the actual Milsim aspect of airsoft. I was just hooked. I cringe looking at my loadout but its ok. Cause at the end of the day, we are a bunch of grown men with toy guns playing dress up! Stay Frosty

Its not the gun, not the camo, not the boots, heck, its something that often gets forgotten because we dont think about it sometimes.
“You’re never around anymore...”Questions wondering what Ive been up to, statements telling me that Im not around anymore. I’ve disappeared, I’ve gone dark, I’ve runaway. Sure, I haven’t completely gone off the grid but at the same time I never let anyone know what I’m up to.
The Journey of the Panda Goes West...I mean its only about a 120 miles away but its still West and it still involves travel. So, that is long distance enough for me. I mean going to McDonald's a few blocks away is a trek that may be treacherous but the reward of those succulent golden french fries is well worth the journey. But this article is not about the gift of French Fries from the McDonald's gods. Not this one anyways, maybe in the future. No, this is the story of a Panda going into Combat Sports Supply. A bit of backstory first... So long story short, this panda happened to come across a film deal. After filming for a week I took a break by going to this airsoft store that I never had the fortune of walking into. All I knew was that the owner seemed to be a cool cat and they had airsoft stuff. I met the owner at the Iberian Gates event last year in Idaho City and when I say met I mean, he stopped me to take a picture of me. I probably should have talked to him more. Anyways, I walk into the store and that familiar smell of new tactical gear and mint guns filled the air. Felt like coming home after a long vacation away. It just felt nice being in there. As I walked in I was greeted by none other than the awesome Justin Brown. He had that friendly grin that you couldn't help but warm up to. A super down to earth guy that is in this industry for the community and the growth. He couldn't care less about the money, so you know right off the bat that we were going to be great friends. Combat Sports SupplyNot going to lie, I spent about 3 hours in that shop. Browsing through his awesome selection as well as just chatting and meeting the local Boise players who would walk in. Justin greeted all of them the same and treated them less like a money bearing statistic and more of a person. He helped out a young man that was searching for a P90 mag and Justin gave him all the options with the pros and cons of each. Not just trying to make him buy the most expensive mag on the floor. That really impressed me. As you can already see I am a huge fan of the customer service that Justin set the bar for in his store. Yet, customer service can only go so far in the airsoft world. You would have to have quality gear at quality prices as well. Does Combat Sport Supply do this? Well... yeah... They have all the quality gun replicas you can ask for. He literally has access to anything you would need and he could get it at a competitive price as well. They have G&G, Ares, Classic Army, Tippmann, WE, Elite Force, UTG, Echo 1, KWA and many others in stock in shop. From electric AEGs to Gas Blowback replics to HPA, CSS has everything you would need in a replica. Keep in mind there is also an online website that you can order from at combatsportsupply.com, where there are literally hundreds of guns to choose from. So be sure to check that out! In addition to guns CSS also carries all sorts of gear. Like literally whatever you need and more. They even have some of the more rare Plate Carriers and camos that most major retailers don't stock. They have the made for airsoft gear as well as more professional companies that the real men and women that serve this country use. They even sell real steel plates that stop actual bullets. They also sell medical equipment, survival gear, camping gear, food, etc. Seriously, Combat Sport Supply has everything. Be sure if you are in the Boise area to come and check these guys out, say hi with Justin and make yourself a new friend in the airsoft community! I know I will be working with Justin in the future for events in Idaho as well as getting some harder to find gear and equipment. For example, next month I will be getting some kit that will be able to VANQUISH all those that come before me. You all will find out more as soon as I get it. Anyways be sure to check out their website and their actual store. Get some good deals and make even better friends!
#StayFrosty The OpAbominable Snowman was originally planned to be a big kickoff game to start the year 2017 right. What better way than with a bunch of toy guns, good friends and really bad snowmen costumes? The AO (Area of Operations) was the Abandoned House field. Smaller than what I am used to but big enough to get some great game types in. There is an abandoned barn off center to the field with scattered farm equipment here and there. But the best part was the fact that the parking lot was right next to the field. Thank goodness because the trek through the snow would have killed us all. Ok, maybe just me because the snow got up to 3 feet and I haven't been doing cardio. Anyways, we were estimating on about 45ish people showing up. Or that's how many registered anyways. (Shameless plugin: sign up on airsoftc3.com for future event info) Because this is airsoft a few people had real life hit them and took them from us, leaving us to about 40 players. Which was still very, very healthy for our game and AO size. The FactionsSo You Wanna Operate? There are days when you just want to LARP hard but at the same time you want to operate. You want to be able to sling BBs at some OpFor but you have a date with a California dime piece right after. Be comfortable yet still be tactical. Switch out the iPhone for a Mk 18 at a minutes notice.
This loadout fills out all these needs and more, this masterpiece I like to call: The LARPerator Check out the Gear List and tell me what you think! Whats your favorite loadout? Let me a note in the comments! This game was the bomb dot com yall. I love CQB situations but I still love going out into the field and doing some work! There was a ton of hiking and I may have been a bit dehydrated, which explains my death but it was still fun! That SAW got real heavy real quick! Thank goodness for Parker and his life saving skills! #StayFrosty Would you look at that. You found my blog, this is where I will keep record of my adventures as the #TacticalPanda while also sharing knowledge of the tactical community with tips and tricks to up your game both in airsoft and in real life. So thank you for taking the time to check this out and for my first post I am just going to keep it short and sweet by showing yall a link to the sickest Milsim City commercial that you will ever see! #StayFrosty |
